Practicum and teaching experience

A showcase of practical teaching placements across diverse South Australian primary schools, highlighting classroom impact, versatile curriculum delivery and student engagement.

Woodside Primary School: Year 5/6 final practicum

During my final placement at Woodside Primary School, I had the opportunity to teach a Year 5/6 composite class. Throughout my placement, I built strong relationships with students and worked hard to create a positive and engaging classroom environment. My mentor feedback highlighted my enthusiasm, energy and willingness to go above and beyond in my teaching. I planned and taught engaging lessons, differentiated learning to support individual student needs and used feedback and assessment to help students continue to grow. This placement was such a valuable experience and really strengthened my excitement and confidence as I begin my teaching career.

Athelstone Primary School: Year 4 and physical education

During my placement at Athelstone Primary School, I had the opportunity to experience two different teaching roles. I spent part of my placement in a Year 4 classroom and three days teaching specialist Physical Education across different year levels. This experience helped me become more confident and adaptable when working with different students, learning environments and teaching styles. It also strengthened my classroom management skills and showed me the importance of clear routines, positive relationships and creating an inclusive environment where all students feel comfortable getting involved.

Greenwith and Wandana Primary: Diverse learning contexts

At Greenwith Primary School, I taught a complex Year 4/5 class, applying supportive behaviour management and creating curated visual learning displays that celebrated student work samples. Earlier practical experience at Wandana Primary School focused on multi-year Physical Education programs, cementing my enthusiastic presence and collaborative approach across the broader school community.
